What have we done
Blood stained hands, Tear streaked face
Fear is coursing through her blood
Friends are dying, Her sister’s crying
Is God forgetting us again?
How can we live in ignorance
We forget who we are
When children are crying
And men are laughing
What have we done
To make children carry our guns
What do we say
When they see a life of pain
To make them fight our wars
And forget life’s worth living for.
What have we done…
What can we do, but live our lives
And pray to see another day
Pray for peace, pray for life
But will I see the sun rise again?
I wrote this after seeing images of children in Liberia shooting off AK-47's and wondered what the world has really come to. The question is not to say, Well, what can I do? I can't just fly over there and stop the war. But perhaps its to ask ourselves, maybe its time to recognize that the world is seeking something more and that everything we do does affect the world and how can I make a difference.
Jon's Prose and Poetics
Welcome to my Page of Written Prose and Poetics. A lot of them probably don't rhyme or anything but I just kinda wrote them thinking of a song. Hopefully, these will somehow inspire you to keep hoping, and keep believing. I might add some other stuff not written by myself but perhaps have had great meaning and inspiration to me in times of joy and sorrow. All writings are copyrighted by Jon Ho 2001-2007
